More often than not, our role involves working alongside other professional advisers, including lawyers, independent accountants, corporate finance boutiques and investment banks.
Just as we know our professional limitations, we also know that other professional advisers cannot be expected to know everything about tax, all of the time. It can be invaluable to have access to tax expertise for those tax issues you cannot resolve for your client.
We therefore offer the same level of tax support to legal professionals, small accountancy practices, in-house tax teams and corporate finance boutiques as we do for our clients.
It’s not just client work that we do either. We deliver a highly successful programme of CPD qualifying technical seminars to our fellow professionals within law, corporate finance and wealth management. We offer these free of charge as it’s our way of keeping in touch and giving you that little extra relevant tax knowledge when you’re with your clients.
As our focus is on providing high-quality tax advice, we naturally complement working with other professional practices. Putting it simply, we seek to supplement the services you offer to your client and unlike a large accountancy firm, we would never threaten your client relationships.
Whether it’s a one-off piece of advice to you or your client, or getting us involved in a larger project, we’re comfortable working in the background or in tandem.

Bespoke, CPD qualifying tax technical training sessions
I’m a tax specialist with over 17 years’ experience. I’ve had roles with Big Four and mid-tier firms. I’ve also worked within the in-house tax team of a magic circle law firm. I suppose I’m a slightly different tax advisor in that I studied law at university and went on to successfully pass the BAR (not the drinking type!), which is a qualification required to become a practising barrister. I also successfully qualified as a Chartered Tax Advisor. It definitely feels like I spent a lot of my “youth” studying. I joined Claritas in 2015, when there were only five members of the team.
I studied Law at university and decided to start a career in tax so I could continue to work with legislation and cases. I’m CTA qualified and have over 20 years’ experience of working with businesses and their owners.
Claritas Tax’s technical updates are a great ‘value add’ for our team. Claritas manage to distil enough relevant information into short but focused sessions that really help us to better identify potential tax issues and opportunities as they arise.
