The role:

Our Innovation Tax Relief team works with dynamic companies to make claims for R&D tax relief, Patent Box tax relief and Creative Industries Tax Relief.

Due to the continued growth of our Innovation Tax Relief service line, we are looking for a Tax Manager or Assistant Manager to join either of our Birmingham or Manchester offices.

We work with companies of all sizes, from start-up businesses through to SMEs and large companies. We deal with claims made under the R&D SME scheme as well as RDEC and we cover all industry sectors.

We are passionate about innovation and we have recently launched a grant funding service to enhance our offering to further support businesses carrying out R&D activity.

We are looking for individuals who have a real interest in innovation and who enjoy working with, and supporting, like-minded businesses.

Ideally, we would be looking for the following background and experience:

  • Minimum five years’ experience (Manager) or four years’ experience (Assistant Manager) in a R&D tax or Patent Box role either in practice, in industry or a mix of both;
  • Ability to demonstrate technical competence in preparing and delivering R&D and/or Patent Box tax relief claims;
  • Strong project management skills;
  • Interest in development of junior staff members;
  • CTA and / or ACA qualified.

We will consider ambitious Assistant Managers and Managers looking to make the next step up the career ladder.

These roles are preferably full-time, but we will consider part-time / flexible working arrangements.

Only those applicants who have a legal right to work in the UK and have an appropriate amount of practical relevant UK tax experience, as outlined above, will be considered for these roles.
