The role

Our Valuation and Share Schemes Team works across a broad range of valuation projects across a multitude of sectors for SMEs and various top-tier and mid-tier private equity clients. The Team undertakes valuations for all UK and international tax purposes, including income tax (advice on pay-as-you-earn), corporation tax, capital gains tax, inheritance tax and stamp duty as well as for accounting and litigation purposes.  We also design and implement Management Incentive Plans for clients looking to incentivise employees, including agreeing the valuation with HMRC where necessary.

Due to the continued growth of our Valuation and Share Schemes Team, we are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Manager or Senior Manager to join either our Birmingham, Manchester or London offices.

Our team draws on an equally broad mix of experience and specialism, so we try not to be too prescriptive about what a candidate’s background must be.  We’re happy to share our collective experience to help yours grow.

Ideally, we would be looking for the following background and experience:

  • A minimum 2 years’ manager experience in a valuation role.
  • Technical competence in the application of a range of valuation methodologies and techniques including DCF and option pricing.
  • Project lead and day-to-day contact for clients, providing a range of valuation services to public and private companies.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects of varying sizes and complexity to a high standard.
  • Drafting valuation reports and actively contributing to larger, more complex valuation projects.
  • Analysing historical and forecast financial statements of companies being valued, including income statements, balance sheets and cash flow statements.
  • Conducting comparable company and transaction searches, company research and industry research to support valuations analysis.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Interest in development of junior staff members.
  • CTA and / or ACA qualified.

The role is preferably full-time, but we will consider part-time / flexible working arrangements.

Only those applicants who have a legal right to work in the UK and have an appropriate amount of practical relevant UK tax experience, as outlined above, will be considered for these roles.

We regularly benchmark our salaries against the ‘Big Four’ to ensure we are competitive and attracting the best talent.  Add on to that an entitlement to join our All-Employee Share Reward Scheme which entitles every employee to a share of the firms’ profits above a fixed threshold, plus a flexible benefits package, and we think you will be pleasantly surprised, financially speaking.
