Who am I?

I’m a Chartered Tax Adviser specialising in providing tax advisory services to private companies, owner managers and High Net Worth individuals advising on all taxes and their interaction. Prior to joining Claritas I have always held tax advisory roles in Mid-Tier and Boutique firms specialising in the privately owned business market. I am also a member of the Chartered Institute of Tax Owner Managed Business Committee.

When I’m at work

Most of my time is spent advising on transactional tax matters such as reorganisations, restructures and sales and acquisitions but in the world of private businesses where the business and the owner are inseparable I have always advised on both personal and corporate tax matters. Therefore I also get involved with private client matters, employee share incentivisation and advising on shareholder tax reliefs. The best part of tax is no two days or projects are the same and I enjoy the challenge that the variety of that and the ever-changing tax legislation brings.

I thrive on building strong relationships with clients, colleagues and other professionals alike and pride myself on being a trusted adviser to rely on.  I love breaking down technical tax legislation into something more understandable and relish in helping clients achieve their objectives. With my sense of humour and light-hearted approach I like to hope I go against the tax adviser stereotype – no one ever said tax had to be boring!

When I’m not at work

I enjoy keeping fit by going on long walks with my crazy golden cocker spaniel Polly as well as going to fitness classes and on runs.  I also love cooking, baking and wine tasting which largely counteracts my otherwise active lifestyle – they say life is all about balance! When not at work I’m usually burning the candle at both ends filling my social calendar with my husband, friends and family who I adore.
