Valuations Senior Manager

The Role:

Our Valuations team led by Associate Partner, Alex Hall, work across a broad range of clients in all sectors and on various projects.

Due to the continued growth of the firm and our growing service line, we are looking for either an experienced Manager or recently promoted Senior Manager to join us in either our Manchester or Birmingham office.

Essential background and experience includes:

We appreciate that experience will vary depending on the grade you apply for, but regardless of this you will be supported by Alex Hall, who has almost 20 years of experience and the wider Claritas team.

  • Minimum of four years’ experience (Manager) or six years’ experience (Senior Manager) in a tax role with a level of exposure to valuations either in practice, in industry or a mixture of both.
  • Experience in preparing valuations for various purposes, such as tax-advantaged option plans, employment-related securities matters, Capital Gains Tax market value transactions, probate values, corporate reorganisations, etc.
  • Familiar with a variety of valuation methodologies to accommodate differing share types, e.g. Ordinary shares, growth shares, ratchet shares, etc.
  • CTA and / or ACA qualified (preferred although not essential)
  • Experience of dealing directly with clients and
  • A good working knowledge/ experience of the key relevant areas of tax involved in Equity Reward and Valuations, including:
    • Employment-related securities and their interaction with employee incentives
    • Tax-advantaged and non-tax-advantaged share schemes (benefits, qualifying conditions, etc)
    • Due Diligence – work with the wider tax due diligence teams by providing support on employment-related securities and share scheme matters (e.g., attend calls, review responses/documents, identify tax risks and quantify them where necessary and prepare reports)
  • Annual compliance requirements for employment-related securities and tax- advantaged share schemes
  • Strong project management
  • Interest in development of junior staff members including new
