Who am I?
I am a Chartered Tax Advisor with over 30 years experience advising both businesses and individuals on tax planning opportunities, as well as ensuring all tax compliance obligations are met. I trained in London with BDO before moving to Bristol with PwC in 1996. I rejoined BDO in 2012 before joining a former client of PwC as Group CFO and set up a family office. That business was subsequently sold to PE and so I rejoined the profession with a local firm before joining Claritas to set up the Bristol office.
When I’m at work
Whilst I really enjoy problem solving for clients, with my Group CFO role, I can put myself in the shoes of the client to come up with a pragmatic solution to their tax needs.
When I’m not at work
When I’m not at work I can be found walking the family dog (a cockerpoo), messing about on the water in the Bristol channel, following motorsports (F1) or watching my football team (Everton), no time for golf or tennis (according to the wife). Our son is an aspiring post production editor so we do spend time watching many films. As well as all of this, my wife and I are carers for my father and her mother which fills the rest of our time.
