As of today, you can now join the VAT deferral payment scheme If your business deferred paying VAT in the period from 20 March to 30 June 2020 and you can’t afford to pay by 31 March 2021, then you can join the new deferral payment scheme from HMRC.
This allows you to pay the VAT you owe over a longer period of time. The online system opens today and will remain open until 21 June 2021, allowing businesses to make up to 11 monthly instalments, interest free. The earlier you are able to join, the more monthly payments you can make to help spread the cost of the repayment.
Note that HMRC are not accepting agent applications so you will need to make the application on behalf of the business yourself directly.
