Claritas Tax has been supporting KidsOut for over seven years and in that time we have had the pleasure of taking part in a range of activities to raise many thousands of pounds to support their vital cause; helping vulnerable children and mothers fleeing domestic abuse throughout the UK and giving them hope.
From buying presents for the children so that they have something to open at Christmas and attending black tie events, to raising funds by taking part in the London Marathon 2.6 Challenge and trekking all the way from our Birmingham Office to Tokyo, we have been privileged to help KidsOut make a difference in the lives of so many children and mothers.
But we can’t make all the difference on our own and KidsOut need more partners like us to ensure that they can keep up their vital work
COVID-19 has had a vast impact on almost every industry and the charitable sector is certainly no exception, with KidsOut losing over £500,000 of funding to date. For KidsOut, this has been intensified by the increase in domestic violence and the compounding effect that social distancing has had on the extreme isolation many of these children already face.
KidsOut’s services are required now more than ever, so if you can help and if you want to be a partner of KidsOut, then please get in touch with Kathy Capper using the following email address: Kathy.Capper@kidsout.org.uk
Last year KidsOut provided every child in refuge during the Christmas period with at least one new toy, which amounted to over 23,000 toys being delivered to children in refuge across the UK.
The Giving Tree initiative invites you to ‘Ditch Secret Santa’ and buy toys for children in local refuge homes instead. The recipients are children who have escaped domestic violence, being forced to flee their homes quickly, most leaving all their possessions behind. Without the Giving Tree initiative, these children may not receive a gift at Christmas at all.
KidsOut are aiming to raise £80,000 to take 8,000 children and their mothers for a fun day out to the cinema to remind them what it is like to be a child again.
Just think of an activity your organisation can take part in like running, skipping, baking etc. around the numbers 8, 80, 800, 8,000 or 80,000, set up a fundraising page and ask friends, family, colleague and clients to support you by donating to KidsOut’s cause.
Having successfully run their first virtual ‘Have a Ball at Home’ in July, KidsOut will be back hosting a virtual Christmas Ball on 4th December 2020. You and your colleagues can invite your friends and family as well as your clients for a night of fun. More information will be released about the Christmas Ball nearer the time.
