Claritas Tax, the UK’s largest independent tax advisory firm with offices in Birmingham, Manchester, Nottingham, and, more recently, Glasgow and Bristol, has just published its 2023 roundup and it has been an incredible year for the firm!
Some of the firm’s most notable achievements include:
- 23.3% headline growth, with profitability also growing strongly
- The opening of a new city centre office in Nottingham and moving to a new permanent home for the Manchester office
- Significant growth across all business areas, as well as launching a new service line called ‘TaxAware’, dedicated to the UK’s small to medium sized accounting firms
- Welcoming 9 new team members in the last calendar year,
- Over 30% of the team were promoted, including two new Partner promotions during the year in Ses Memhi (Head of Transactions Tax) and Sam Hart (Head of Private Client), with Guy Kendall (Head of Corporate and International Tax) being promoted to partner on 1 January 2024
Growing with purpose – Claritas has set a clear direction for growth and in achieving its ambition of being the UK’s leading tax consultancy firm. The firm has continued to strengthen its team across all service lines and aims to have over 60 fee earners across all offices by the end of this year.

There is continuous open dialogue across the firm, and this cultural shift has been supported by new modern workspaces that facilitate a range of working styles.
The business celebrated a few notable and prestigious award wins which included the Insider Midlands Dealmakers ‘Specialist Services Team of the Year’ award and being recognised within the top 100 of the 2023 Sunday Times Best Places to Work. The firm was also ranked in the Top 100 Global Most Inspiring Workplaces, and in the top 50 in Europe, Middle East and Africa. Claritas ended the year on a high, with their first-ever graduate, Faith Ross, winning the Midlands Insider Young Accountant of the Year. The firm was also shortlisted for:

A final notable achievement during the year was the work carried out by Claritas’ Transactions Tax team, who advised on 53 deals with a combined value of more than £950m throughout 2023, across various sectors.
